Precision Electrochemical Control for Cell-Based Experiments
Electrophorus’ Multichannel Electrochemical System for Microscopy is a universal, plug-and-play platform designed to deliver programmable electrochemical (galvanic) treatments directly to cell cultures grown on standard 3 × 1” microscope slides. Optimized for use under live-cell imaging conditions, this system allows researchers to simultaneously observe and modulate cellular responses in real time. Whether you’re conducting mechanistic studies or generating statistically robust data, this system brings scalability, precision, and seamless integration into your in vitro bioelectrochemical workflows.
Designed for Inverted and Upright Microscopy
The system includes:

BRICK micro
A modular electrode array integrated on a standard 1 × 3 inch glass slide, compatible with chambered coverslips for live-cell experimentation.

Microscope Stage Adapter
Universal K-FRAME-compatible adapter ensuring stable and seamless electrical interfacing between BRICK micro and GALSTAT 8C during live-cell experiments.

Galstat 8C
An 8-channel programmable galvanostat
Adaptable to Any Experimental Need
The BRICK micro system offers a high degree of customization to accommodate diverse research protocols and experimental designs.

Wide Selection of Electrode Geometries
Choose from a range of standard electrode geometries or design custom layouts tailored to your specific application.
Standard geometries include:
- Parallel Electrodes
- Concentric Electrodes
- Interdigitated Electrodes (IDEs)
Electrode dimensions and spacing can be customized across a broad range — from tens to thousands of micrometers.
Wide Selection of Electrode Materials
We offer thin-film electrodes fabricated from high-performance materials.
Standard materials include:
- Platinum
- Gold
- PEDOT:PSS (available on metallic substrates or as free-standing films)
All electrodes are encapsulated with Parylene-C, ensuring biocompatibility, chemical resistance, and precise insulation.

Double Salt Bridge Configuration for Electric Field Studies
A specialized BRICK micro variant is available for studies focusing on the effect of electric fields on cell cultures, while minimizing the direct influence of electrochemical reaction byproducts.
This configuration comprises eight parallel electrochemical cells, each composed of three interconnected wells:
- The central well is used for cell cultivation
- It is connected via hydrogel-based salt bridges to two adjacent side wells
- Ag/AgCl electrodes are inserted into the side wells using a compatible lid system

GALSTAT 8C
8-Channel Galvanostat
A compact, robust, and fully programmable galvanostat built for demanding lab environments.
- 8 Independently Controlled Channels
- Bluetooth-Enabled with a user-friendly GUI
- Battery Powered for wireless operation inside incubators or flow hoods
Electrical Specs:
